Football Food: Nikki's Nuclear Wings

Mmmmm looks delicious. I usually just do 1 part butter, 1 part Frank's Red Hot. I'm guessing yours are better :)

Your title reminds me of last summer - I had roasted some habaneros and pureed them with a little water and salt. We had some friends over and the guys headed out to the grill but first I reminded the girls (in my best Dubya voice) that the habanero sauce was nuc-ular. They didn't listen and did a full on dip in to it and cursed my name for the rest of the day.

Hello!

I came here through Dom & Jen and immediately added you to my neighborhood because I’m slowly (ok,ok, VERY SLOWLY :o) trying to make cooking a joy by trying new stuff more often; thus, I loved this. Your pictures are awesome, by the way.

Have a great weekend!

Brian, LMAO at the girls for not heading the "nuc-ular" warnings. hehehe For some reason I'm partial to Tabasco over Frank's....and the ratio for us is better with more sauce and less butter...mainly because of the heat factor (Alvaro is a heat fanatic, and so am I to some extent). Hi Narami! Nice to meet you, and welcome to the neighborhood! Thanks so much for your kind comments! :) I look forward to seeing more of you. :)
Hmm. "heading" is not right. I think I meant "heeding." Ooooops. LOL
Oh, I always have the full arsenal. Regular Tabasco, green Tabasco, garlic Tabasco, Frank's, Sri Rachi, Tapatio, Bufalo and the always popular dried red chili peppers. Got to have the right ordinance for every scenario :)
Sriracha rocks my world....SO good on noodles (do you like Pho? There's this little hole in the wall on Nicolett called Pho 79....OMG I would cut off my right arm to eat there right now--well, maybe my left, so I could still cook hehehe.) I totally know what you mean about having the full arsenal. hehe Currently? I have Tabasco, Sriracha, East End West Indian hot pepper sauce, Mama Africas peri-peri (HOT, man!), red chili and jalapeño sauces, plus a variety of dried peppers, paprikas and such, and chili oil from the Iranian restaurant we go to...I don't know what they all put in there, but it rocks.
I don't know whether I like pho or not truthfully :)

I usually have some canned chipotles en adobo too. You can blend them for a quick and easy marinade or put them in roasted tomatillo salsa. Mmm...
Do you like Vietnamese food? Noodles? I have a recipe posted here...check it out....its involved, but good. :)
I have very little experience with authentic Asian food. So, maybe I like it but I don't know :)
The next time you get near Uptown on Nicollet...give this place a try...it's really inexpensive, and they have *awesome* authentic Vietnamese....I recommend the pho, the beef wrapped in grape leaves and their fried spring rolls...truly awesome food...and heck, if you don't like it, you will only be out a few bucks. :) Here's the addy: 2529 Nicollet Ave.
